SCS Cheerleading
Sumiton Christian offers many opportunities for cheerleading participation at the Varsity and Junior Varsity level. Our cheerleaders perform and support our Eagles at regular and playoff games for football and basketball. Throughout the year, the squads participate in several activities, organizing and participating in pre-game pep rallies, painting banners for sports, organizing the athletic banquet and more. The Cheerleading program at Sumiton Christian is very rewarding, but requires a lot of hard work and dedication. Cheerleaders serve as positive role models and leaders at SCS while displaying and encouraging spirit and pride for SCS.
Tryouts & Details
Tryouts for Junior Varsity (7th & 8th graders) and Varsity (9th - 12th graders) are held during late April each year.
Fundraisers are optional throughout the year to help cover the cost of uniforms, equipment and camps.
All cheerleaders attend a UCA camp & clinic during the summer months and have the opportunity to participate in the annual Macy's Day Thanksgiving Parade or the London New Year's parade based on their performance at camp.
