Preschool (K3, K4, and K5)

Sumiton Christian School exists as a vital ministry to our community. Our desire is to partner with parents to help them fulfill Ephesians 6:4 which admonishes them to bring their children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We believe this directive should begin at the earliest of ages.

Our Preschool, begins each day, as children and adults join together via the intercom to recite the daily bible verse, pledge of allegiance to the flag and start our day with a word of prayer. Afterwards, our day moves at a rapid pace enabling students to spend a considerable portion of their school day receiving instruction through the Abeka curriculum. At our preschool levels we focus on language arts, character development, study of culture and history, fine arts, physical education and music appreciation. As Preschool progresses and students prepare for elementary school they begin to learn phonics, reading, writing, and life concepts like telling time, currency, and bible application. We also enjoy taking our Preschool students to the Pumpkin Patch, Children's Theatre, and Birmingham Zoo annually as well as celebrating Fall, Christmas and the End of the Year with classroom parties.

After School Care

For parents who work, After School Care is available for K3 - 12th grade students who can not be picked up at the normal dismissal time. After School Care is available from 3:30 until 6:00 Monday through Friday. The cost of After School Care is $6 per day or $25 per week.

Additional Expenses

Tuition covers the cost of curriculum and your student's daily instruction and care. Additionally, at the beginning of each school year, your child will have a supply list that can be purchased at the school store or at your desired local retailer.

Students have the option to purchase lunch and snacks daily in our cafeteria and school store or bring one from home. Lunch is $3.50 daily for Preschool students and snacks range from $0.75 to $1.25 in the school store.

K3 and K4 Preschool students are NOT required to wear uniforms.

Testimonial

It is such a joy seeing our child learn and grow in a loving and Christian environment. We know that his teacher and the entire staff care not only about his academic progress, but him as a individual.
